Simpson Foundation Awards $93,000 in Employee Scholarships

The Simpson Foundation awarded $93,000 in employee scholarships to 50 recipients. These recipients, ranging from teenagers to adults, will use the scholarships to continue their education, significantly transforming their futures and opening new doors of opportunity.

While The Simpson Foundation’s Employee Scholarship Fund has been in effect for many years, it has grown considerably each year. This year scholarships were awarded to twelve new scholars, eighteen returning scholars, and twenty workshop participants.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we can invest in the futures of our employees,” said Jim Clancy, executive director of the Jenner’s Pond. “The Employee Scholarship Fund allows us to recognize and nurture the talent within our community, ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care.”

“I’m incredibly thankful to be part of an organization where the residents genuinely care about our growth and success,” said Phylicia Hurtt, a culinary associate at Jenner’s Pond who is studying Psychology at West Chester University. She went on to say: “Being chosen for this scholarship means the world to me, and it inspires me to keep striving both personally and professionally.”

Earlier this month, Jenner’s Pond held a ceremony to award $83,000 in employee scholarships to 36 recipients.

The Jenner’s Pond Employee Scholarship Committee, composed of residents, manages the program alongside staff from the Simpson Foundation which supports residents of Simpson communities by securing charitable support for benevolent care and life-enhancing services for seniors.

Simpson Foundation Committee members help to secure donations for the Educational Scholarship Fund, ensuring that all contributions are fully utilized each year to provide scholarships for eligible employees.

“To this year’s recipients: we are pleased –
we are honored to offer you these scholarships and engage for your time and your effort in serving our residents and making our lives easier here at Jenner’s Pond – to which I say thank you.”
